THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO – Keeping the Kids Busy this Easter Weekend!

Easter Sunday is this weekend and there are plenty of indoor and outdoor activities to keep the kids busy!  Here are just a few of the family-friendly events happening in Chicago and the suburbs throughout the weekend!!

Medieval Times and Maggie Daley Park join forces for the Great Chicago Egg Hunt on Friday (10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.) at the North Lawn of Maggie Daley Park (337 E. Randolph St.) in The Loop.  This Middle Ages-themed Easter extravaganza invites children ages 1 through 12 to enjoy a knight parade, knight training, medieval-themed activities, crafts, story time, entertainment, games, donut decorating, and more!  As for the egg hunt, it will be rolled out in four waves (10:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m.) with each wave accommodating about 350 children searching for more than 25,000 candy-filled eggs!!

Follow the yellow brick road all the way to Emerald City!  Well, follow it to NEWCITY Lincoln Park (1457 N. Halsted St.) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood for their Wizard of Oz Spring Egg Hunt on Saturday (4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.).  Bring the entire family to this Wizard of Oz themed spring egg hunt featuring a specially created poppy field and an Emerald City Lounge!  Activities include an egg hunt, a DJ, face painters, balloon twisters, a photo booth station, food, a cash bar, prizes from NEWCITY retailers, and more!!

Hop on over to Montrose Harbor (600 W. Montrose Ave.) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood this Saturday for the 9th annual Bunny Rock Chicago 5K & Kids’ Egg Hunt.  The festive 5K race starts at 9:00 a.m. with 80’s rock music played at the start and finish line.  All race participants will also receive bunny ears, neon sunglasses, a dri-fit unisex t-shirt, and a finisher medal!  After the 5K, a kids’ egg hunt begins at 10:15 a.m. with over 3,000 candy-filled eggs for children ages 2-10, a huge live petting zoo with over 20 animals, and opportunities to take a picture with the Easter Bunny.  All egg hunt participants will receive bunny ears, sunglasses, and a basket for all their eggs!  It’s a day filled with lots of excitement and overall fun for the entire family!!

Families are invited to visit Parkway Bank Park (5501 Park Pl.) in Rosemont this Saturday (1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.) for their Spring Fun Fest.  An Easter egg hunt will begin at 2:00 p.m. featuring 10,000 eggs filled with candy, toys, and coupons for Rosemont businesses.  Other free activities include balloon sculpting, face painting, bounce houses, and visits with the Easter Bunny!  And, live children’s entertainment is being provided by Scribble Monster!!
