An Oak Park father and daughter have created a new and healthy alternative to the usual candy bar and cookie fundraising concept. Their company is called Go! Go! Go! Fundraising which provides 40% profit from the sale of energy bars similar to Clif bars® with sales tracking abilities.
SOUTH LOOP
You may not have even noticed that a new neighborhood coffee cafe La Haven (1240 S. Michigan) had opened on April 20th. According to DNAinfo.com the quiet opening is just what manager DJ Mei had in mind. The location was converted rather quickly from the previous Crave Cafe and Lounge to what it is now. It hopes to add a neighborhood feel as opposed to the typical grab-and-go coffee purveyors nearby. Stop in to enjoy the atmosphere and La Colombe brand coffee.
GOLD COAST
Today Thursday April 30th is the grand opening of the Rent the Runway store at 710 N. Wabash Ave. This ground breaking business model was created by CEO Jennifer Hyman and co-founder Jenny Fleiss in 2009 and has been receiving a lot of well-deserved attention from the likes of Fortune and Time magazines. Name brand designer fashion does not come cheap and a woman can easily expect to pay hundreds/thousands of dollars for a dress she may wear only once to a special occasion. With the help of a stylist you can choose dresses and accessories for rent by top designers at around 10% of the retail price.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner on May 10th so what are you going to do to show Mom just how special she is? Well Foursided (2939 N. Broadway) is currently in the process of their #FrameMyFlashback contest that is ending soon so now is the time to enter! NORWOOD PARK
Get ready for the grand opening of Ada’s Market & Deli at 6165 N. Northwest Hwy in May. The store’s sign just went up this week and they will be holding one last Job Fair for all positions this weekend – Saturday 5/2 and Sunday 5/3 from 11:00am – 5:00pm. The grocery store will include locally grown organic produce freshly baked goods butcher and deli items plus an Intelligentsia coffee bar. This will be more than your typical grocery store since they also plan to present educational events and offer catering services. The actual opening date has yet to be announced but I’m sure the Norwood Park neighborhood is ready and waiting.
