Chicago is definitely having an incredibly strange winter so far but that doesn’t mean you can’t use the apps that local developers have created that are using Chicago’s open data. The following apps will help you get through the winter months without much stress at all.

2inch.es – Chicago Winter Parking – this app will tell you what streets have 2" snow route and overnight parking restrictions which is extremely helpful if you’re unsure where to park.

Was My Car Towed or Relocated? – if you can’t find your car this app will help if your car was in fact towed or relocated.

SpotHero – This app allows you to reserve a parking spot or lease out your own spot if it’s not in use.

FasPark – This app will allow you to find street parking in real-time – a great time saver if you’re in a hurry.

Taxi Share Chicago – This app is currently only on an Android device and allows you to share a cab anywhere in Chicago.

ChiTxt – If you need to access City Services you can do so via SMS.

iFinditChicago – When you are looking for food shelter and medical care in your area this app will definitely assist you.

Techno Finder – If you’re looking for public wi-fi networks anywhere in Chicago this app will locate them for you.

Clear Streets – This app will tell you where Chicago plows have been.

Now you can stay connected and get the information you need all at your fingertips.
