TECHNOLOGY TIPS – USE YOUR SMART PHONE TO ACCESS THE INTERNET

So my computer has been "down" with this extreme weather. What does this mean? I have no internet access through my ISP (Internet Service Provider).

One thing that’s important to being connected is being able to use my desktop. So bring my nephew to the rescue. I knew I could get a connection through my Droid but I wasn’t sure how to make it work. Then he took me to the app market and told me to use PdaNet.

This app allows you to connect your smart phone to your desktop and utilize your data service from your phone company to power your connection to the web. There is one file to install on your PC but how amazing?!

Within 5 minutes I had connectivity to the Internet and could then get caught up and reconnected. If you have an ISP that potentially can go down it’s a great service to have on your smart phone. Then you also know that you have a back-up plan for your service should you encounter this same issue.

And the best thing about this service it’s free.
