Restaurant Review: Bear Down, Chicago Bears! Sushi Pops and More at Soldier Field

As the Chicago Bears host the Philadelphia Eagles on September 28, (Monday night,) there’s a lot of good eating in all sections of Soldier Field, 1410 Special Olympics Drive.

You can find such new items as Sushi Pops, a Bear-ia Burrito, Chicago Dog Flavored Popcorn, gourmet menu items, local restaurant collaborations, and unique handheld snacks in every corner of Soldier Field!

The brains of the operation are Mark and Larry Levy,  brothers and entrepreneurs who established the Levy Group. They’ve distinguished themselves since their first restaurant, D.B. Kaplan’s, opened in 1978. The popularity of their punny, whimsical menus (The Hugh Hefner, a “topless,” breast of chicken club sandwich) were validated by huge portions and quality, fresh ingredients and imaginative pairings.

I have great memories of taking my friends there and enjoying my favorite, the Lox-Ness Monster, with Nova Scotia lox, cream cheese, black olives, chives and tomatoes (hold the onions) on a toasted bagel.

Stadium Favorites: It Started with Comiskey Park!

In 1982, Levy pioneered fine dining in stadiums at the old Comiskey Park (then home of the Chicago White Sox). In 1985, they expanded to Wrigley Field, and word spread among stadiums throughout the world.

Today, they make elevated stadium food, expertly-crafted drinks and once-in-a-lifetime level desserts for more than 350 sports and entertainment venues, cultural attractions, special events and convention centers.  They handle events for the NFL, MLS, NASCAR, MLB, the WNBA, tennis and horse racing.  Recently, they handled the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game Weekend in Chicago at Wintrust Arena.

Bear Down, Chicago Bears!

The Chicago Bears 2026 Soldier Field gameday eats include some imaginative pairings and souvenirs-as-food throughout the park.

The most viral of the new items are the Sushi Pops, which is your choice oftempura shrimp or tuna-avocado sushi rolls in a souvenir-worthy, Pringles-like push-up can (think push-up ice cream pops) served with logo-imprinted soy sauce squeeze tubes. You can find them in the United Club 300-Level, along with Pork Belly Ramen, served hot, which is hearty, warm fare for “Bear weather” in the coming months!

BBQ Chi Fries are loaded with charred Polish sausage, caramelized onions, cheese curds, Drew’s BBQ sauce and seasoning, and can be found at Tavern Burger in Section 126.

Bear-ia Burrito is a shredded beef birria and Chihuahua cheese in a Bears-branded tortilla with side consommé diip. They’re available on the 300-Level Northwest Food Plaza.

The Levy’s whimsical roots remain in their Dr. Pepper Porky Pretzel Sandwich,  a smoked pork loin with Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce and pickles on a pretzel roll. You can find it in the Dr. Pepper Market in the South Courtyard.

Izzy’s Buttercup Italiano is the creation of former Chicago Bear and current restauranteur/businessman Israel Idonije. The stacked sandwich combines mortadella, proscuitto and sopressata with spicy pepperoni chili crisp, lettuce and Italian dressing on toasted sesame bread. You can find it on the Miller Lite Midway.

Here’s a twist on a Chicago-style popcorn I never saw coming: Chicago’s own Nuts On Clark is unveiling their new Chicago Dog Flavored Popcorn, with mustard, dill, and celery salt seasonings, which is available in Sections 114 and 130.

A Bloody Mary in a Can is self-explanatory, and serves as another souvenir of Soldier Field, as does The Midway Orange Crush, another specialty drink in a souvenir logo can.

Smoked Prime Rib Sandwich is served with housemade giardiniera. It’s found in the Miller Lite Midway.

While not new, one of the most popular items of the last two years has been their two-pound Bear Claw Pretzel, freshly baked in a pizza-sized box, with mustard and beer cheese for dipping. As the Foodbeast notes, while you could try to tackle it solo, sharing might be preferred, considering its massive size and $40 price tag.

And where it’s appropriate, we say “Make room for dessert!” On United Club’s 300 level, they’re serving Edible Cookie Dough Carts, with flavors that include triple chocolate, snickerdoodle, and their special flavor, “Monster of the Midway.”

A local restaurant of note, Frontier by Rick Bayless, will be on the 300-level United Club as well, offering specialized Tortas,Tacos, Chips, Salsa, and Guacamole.

Other Helpful Tips:

Avoid the lines at Concessions with Grab-and-Go, automated self-checkout markets which are located throughout the concourses for faster service.

Soldier Field is Cash-Free: All concession stands, markets, and self-checkout terminals are completely cash-free and accept major credit cards.

Here’s to a great season, Chicago Bears!!
