Finally there’s some good news coming from the base of something stamped with the name “Trump”. Wendella Boat tours, located at 400 N. Michigan Ave. at the base of Trump Tower, has been honored for one boat crew’s rescue of a man who had leapt from the DuSable Bridge at Michigan Ave. on June 4th.
We are now in mid- September and despite the rather warm weather lately cooler weather is right around the corner. We can take advantage of the good weather now to prepare for the coming winter.
Prepare yourself for a local hidden gem. This past weekend we stopped in at BRGRBELLY located at 5739 W. Irving Park Road in Portage Park. And let me tell you, it’s a little easy to miss if you’re not looking for it which is part of its charm.

Milwaukee from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Shredding documents that include personal information such as social security numbers and account numbers can help declutter your home and prevent identity theft. For your information so that you may be prepared for potential audits, the IRS recommends holding on to your income tax records and supporting documents for either 3 years following the date of filing or the tax return’s due date, whichever is later, or up to 7 years if you file a claim for a loss from worthless securities or bad debt deduction.
We are all trying to eat a little better as we get older. I’ve recently lost 20+ pounds by doing a few things differently in my diet. I’m by no means eating completely clean or actually even close but if you really start to think before planning, shopping and eating you can really make a few manageable changes that can really make a difference.
This past Friday, I went to Seafood Hot Pot located at 1130 West Argyle Street in the Andersonville/Edgewater neighborhood. This is actually a second location to the flagship located at 2171 South China Place in the South Loop.
There are little signs everywhere that we’re approaching the end of summer and the beginning of autumn! But the larger sign is this weekend’s Chicago’s “Change of Season” Happenings!!
School’s back in session and no one deserves a happy hour drink more than our Chicagoland teachers. Ampersand Wine Bar at 4845 N. Damen Ave. is showing their appreciation by providing 1 complementary glass of wine to any teacher during happy hour, 5:00 – 6:00p.m., on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays throughout September to help take the edge off and ease into another school year. Bring your school ID or some sort of proof of your educator status just in case.
Even though we have had some cooler days we will still be in for some more hot days. During the week I just want something quick, easy, cool and relatively healthy.
