THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO – Summer Season Marches on with Popular Events!

As our summer season marches on this weekend, not only are there a variety of popular summer events for all ages, but it also gives the adults an evening all their own!
Take a break from your usual routine this Saturday (6:30 p.m.-10 p.m.) for an adults-only evening at Lincoln Park Zoo (2400 N. Cannon Dr.) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood as they host ‘90s Night at the Zoo – Adults Only Evening. You will have after-hours access to explore the lush gardens and visit nearly 200 animal habitats as well as enjoy entertainment provided by a live band and a DJ playing your favorite ‘90s hits. You’ll even have an opportunity to sing your heart out at karaoke! In addition, pop-up bars will be serving beer, wine, and seltzers, along with concession stands serving favorite zoo foods for purchase. So, pull out your ‘90s outfits, line up a babysitter (if one is needed), and get ready to enjoy an evening at the zoo without any strollers or kids in sight!
If you missed last weekend’s Greek Fest in Lincoln Park, perhaps you’re available this Saturday (3 p.m.-11 p.m.) and/or Sunday (12 p.m.-11 p.m.) to celebrate the start of summer at the Lincoln Square Greek Fest located at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (2727 W. Winona St.) in the Lincoln Square neighborhood. Not only will guests enjoy authentic Greek cuisine, homemade Greek desserts, live Greek music, traditional Greek dancing, and family activities but one lucky guest will win the Grand Prize of $10,000 at the Grand Raffle Drawing held on Sunday (winner need not be present). If you’re not the winner of the Grand Prize, there’s still hope to become the lucky winner of the 2nd Prize of $2,000 or the 3rd and 4th Prizes of $1,000 each! Do you feel lucky?
Have you been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 60th annual Andersonville Midsommarfest? Well, it’s ushering in the summer season this Saturday and Sunday (12 p.m.-10 p.m.) at 5200 North Clark Street with a diverse array of festivities. Your summer starts here with diverse food offerings from many local Chicago vendors; a dynamic lineup of live musical performances across 4 stages; a street fair of artisans and merchants; a family area complete with kids’ activity programming; and many other activities such as Flower Crown Crafting.
