THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO – Enjoying the Easter Holiday!

Chicagoans have plenty of options when it comes to enjoying the Easter holiday this weekend! In fact, here is a basket of fun things to do!!

If you need to get the little ones out of the house for a while, here are two events just for them:

Enjoy a fun Easter celebration at Little Bears’ Easter Party and Play this Saturday (10 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1 p.m.-3 p.m.) located at 430 Ashbury in Evanston (preregistration required). Not only will the Easter Bunny be on hand to visit with the kids while the parents take photos, but there’s also an Easter egg hunt, crafts, snacks, and playtime!!

The Oakdale neighborhood will be hosting an Egg Hunt at Mandrake Park this Saturday (11 a.m.-1 p.m.), located at 3858 S. Cottage Grove Ave. This annual Egg Hunt will be a socially distanced event held in the park’s open field and is free! Ages 2-5 hop on over at 11 a.m.; Ages 6-12 hop on over at 11:45 a.m.; and Ages 13-17 hop on over at 12 p.m. Those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Are you ready to hunt?

There are also two virtual Easter-related events that can take place either outdoors or indoors (it’s your choice)!

The first is the Hop, Stop N’ Run: A Virtual 5K Run, Walk or Bike through Chicago’s Northcenter neighborhood. This all-new, socially distanced community event runs from this Saturday through next Saturday, April 10, and is a fundraiser benefitting the Northcenter Chamber of Commerce and the Common Pantry. Sign up with your family, friends, or neighbors and enjoy some fresh air while exploring the Northcenter neighborhood on foot or by bike at your own pace. Each participant will be given a map and an interactive bingo card for extra layers of fun, friendly competition, and exploration!

The second is the Bunny Rock 5K Run & Walk at Montrose Harbor, which has gone virtual this year and is the ultimate Easter race that can be accomplished at any location through April 30! You can walk, skip, use a treadmill, bunny hop, run outside wearing your Easter Bunny swag anywhere, at any time. Just get out or stay in and have a fun time! Also, all race participants will receive bunny ears, neon sunglasses, a dri-fit unisex 80’s Rock Band t-shirt, a Race Bib, and a finisher’s medal!
