Lakeview: Mark your calendars for November 2 and the DC 2019 Dance Slam! This award-winning interactive competition features dance groups performing against one another with the audience deciding their favorite. Each performance is five minutes or less and the crowd is encouraged to root, shout, and vote for their favorites. Audience members will be invited to vote online and the night’s winning group will be invited to perform on Future Stars and other shows in 2019-20. The show is at 8 pm and tickets start at just $18. Lincoln Park: Get ready for a spooky Halloween event at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum! On October 25 from 5:30 to 8 pm, it’s Supper with the Snakes 2019. Don your very best Halloween costume and join for an evening of tasty treats, slithering friends, and fun games. Trick or treat your way through a museum full of live snakes and learn new snake facts along the way. Join in games and craft projects, then hang out and dance at the Halloween party of the year! Evanston: Get ready for a fun Halloween evening with the Family Concert: Spooktacular at Nichols Concert Hall on Sunday, October 27 at 3 pm. The concert program features “The Carnival of the Animals” by Camille Saint-Saëns, performed in costume by the Music Institute’s acclaimed faculty. The Haunted Musical Open House following the concert invites guests to travel from room to room for music, trick or treating, and other activities.
