Summer Series – Pop-Up Art Party

Join ACTIVATE for a pop-up art party that will kick your summer into high gear! ACTIVATE is an annual series of pop-up arts programs launched in 2014 by Chicago Loop Alliance. They transform alleys and other unexpected locations into creative exhibition stations. And tomorrow night, you can experience it for yourself! ACTIVATE is popping up at MacChesney Court, at the corner of E. Lake St. and N. Garland Ct. Curators Missy Perkins and Roe Melloe will guide you through an evening inspired by circus arts. This pop-up is fantastical, bizarre, and surprising! You’ll see contortionists, magicians, hip-hop artists, an interactive costume booth, and live murals. The Pack Drumline will be performing, as well as hip-hop violinist Windy Indie, the South Shore Drill Team, walking magicians from Chicago Magic Lounge, a fire eating and sword swallowing act with Sally Marvel, and more. There’s also an interactive art installation and live alley mural painting by various artists. The best part? This party’s free! And if you RSVP in advance, you receive a free drink ticket. RSVP here and then make sure to get yourself to the Loop by 5 pm tomorrow, Thursday June 6.
