TECHNOLOGY TIPS – INTERNATIONAL FREELANCING

Have you ever thought about being a remote worker full time?

There is a fascinating program called Remote Year. Through this program you can travel with up to 75 professionals from all over the world. You’ll spend one month in 12 different cities and three legs to the trip. Leg 1 is in South America – Uruguay Argentina Bolivia and Peru. Leg 2 is in Europe – Turkey Czech Republic Serbia and Croatia. Leg 3 is in Asia – Malaysia Thailand Cambodia and Vietnam.

The program is not for the faint of heart though. You’ll need to have your own job once the program begins. The company does not provide jobs but a way to immerse yourself in other business cultures and gain experience from their unique differences and similarities. The fee for the trip is $2000 per month with $3000 to reserve your spot. You can vacation at any time while on the trip and simply join the group again once your vacation is complete. The purpose of the group is having diverse participants but it is recommended that you have basic English conversational skills to be able to interact with your fellow "remotes."

Another option for going international is Coboat. This is for the water lovers who want to interact with other "adventurous entrepreneurs" which according to their site are entrepreneurs remote workers digital nomads location independents writers photographers designers. Essentially this is the first mobile green co-working space of its kind which mean this "Green Boat" uses no diesel or oil but solar and wind to power its batteries. The boat also desalinates ocean water to keep the carbon footprint down. While this is not a year long endeavor like Remote Year it is still an investment of one to two week’s time. The cost starts at approximately $1100 for one week. The inaugural launch is in Southeast Asia from Phuket. By the time of year is out Coboat will have traveled to St. Lucia for New Year’s Eve 2016.

Are you up for the adventure?
