It’s your last chance for some pre-Halloween fun this weekend in Chicago as most of us will be out trick-or-treating with our little goblins or getting ready for a Big Halloween Bash as Halloween arrives next Saturday! So let’s get this weekend started!!

The Zom-B Hunt-Zombie Themed Scavenger Hunt & Party will kick-off this Saturday at 12:00 p.m. from the Skybox on Sheffield (3627 N. Sheffield Ave.) in the Wrigleyville neighborhood. This 90 minute zombie-themed team scavenger hunt will transform you into a member of the living dead before roaming the streets of Wrigleyville with your team in search of clues to save humanity! After your mission is complete it’s time for a 2-hour celebration back at the Skybox on Sheffield for some appetizers cocktails raffles and awards with prizes for the Top 3 Teams as well!!

The Zombies vs. Vampires Halloween Crawl kicks-off this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from Halloween Hallway (1355 N. Milwaukee Ave.) in the Wicker Park neighborhood. our admission gets you a survival kit with a map entry into Chicago’s hottest post-pub crawl party an event badge for entry and drink specials at each bar as well as prizes for best costumes!

The Halloween Gathering in its inaugural year brings together Chicago’s vast and diverse creative communities in a “Parade” this Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a powerful procession filled with large spectacle costumes performances music dance dramatic lighting legions of lanterns and more traveling north on Columbus Dr. from Balbo Ave. to Monroe St.! But before dusk the “Art and Halloween Festival” will run from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. along the Chicago Cultural Mile (Balbo Ave. to Randolph St.) with family-friendly activities that include free performances mask-making workshops face painting ghost stories interactive experiences and more as well as a children’s costume parade on The Ribbon in Maggie Daley Park!!

Halloween at Navy Pier celebrates Halloween this Saturday and Sunday (12:00 p.m.) with a variety of family-friendly events that include trick-or-treating on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at various locations around the Pier; spooky movies festive characters dance & comedy performances and more! Additional events on the Pier include a (Not So) Spooky Halloween at the Chicago Children’s Museum Halloween at Harry Caray’s Seadog Haunted Tours and Amazing Chicago Haunted Mazes!!

The Spooky Zoo Spectacular takes place this Saturday at the Lincoln Park Zoo (Cannon Dr. at Fullerton Pkwy.) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood with family entertainment on the main stage and toddler activities in the Regenstein Center for African Apes from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and arts & crafts in the Kovler Lion House and trick-or-treating throughout the zoo from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.! Be sure to arrive in your best or spookiest costume!!

HallowFest — A Garden of Good … and Evil – takes place this Saturday (5:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.) and Sunday (4:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.) at the Chicago Botanic Garden (1000 Lake Cook Rd.) in the suburb of Glencoe just north of the City. Celebrate Halloween with the entire family at either the “friendly” or “spooky” path to various activities that include live pumpkin carving face-painting fortune-telling a spooky walk through the bat cave in the Bridge Gallery to get to the haunted forest in the Joutras Gallery ride the Howlin’ Express enjoy free treats at the Spooky Snack Shack or a meal at the Garden View Café from their Monster Menu and much much more – if you dare!

Finally The Logan Theatre (2646 N. Milwaukee Ave.) in the Logan Square neighborhood is hosting their 4th Annual Horror Movie Madness Festival throughout October with the following films being shown this weekend:

The Shining (1980) – this Saturday & Sunday (8:00 p.m. 10:30 p.m. 12:00 a.m.)

This classic is about a family who heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where the father is haunted by a spiritual presence that influences him into violence and the son sees horrific forebodings from the past and future.

Gremlins (1984) – this Saturday & Sunday (11:00 p.m.)
In this classic a boy inadvertently breaks 3 important rules concerning his new pet that unleashes a horde of mischievous monsters on the small town.
