Oh the excitement! Oh the expectations of new and better! Oh the phone is bent!

When the iPhone 6 first came out everyone was beyond excited for the newest in technology. Then came the reports that people’s phones were bending and staying bent. It caused such an uproar that many videos have come up on YouTube and the community has gone on a mission to uncover if this is a serious issue with the actual structure of the phone.

And now Consumer Reports has joined the fray to test the validity of the complaints made by consumers. To make it a fair comparison CR tested six separate phones including the iPhone 6 iPhone 6 Plus iPhone 5s LG G3 Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and HTC One (M8). The agency subjected every phone to an Instron compression testing machine which determines the weights at which the phone will permanently remain deformed and then separate from the case.

The final results: "While nothing is (evidently) indestructible we expect that any of these phones should stand up to typical use."
