Get outside get some exercise and all for a good cause! Check out the inaugural Oriole Park Sunshine Run/Walk 5K followed by the Kids Dash a quarter of a mile run. After the race family fun ensues with face painting balloon twisting live music food beer garden and much more. Sunday 5/18 at 10:00 a.m. for $40 per person to run $35 to walk and $15 for Kids Dash (10 and under) at the Oriole Park Library located at 7454 West Balmoral Avenue. You know it is almost summer when the fabulous Chicago Green City Market moves outdoors! Shop for locally produced food check out a chef demo taste something or head over for a workshop. Focused on children five years and older this messy but fun workshop with teach them how to make a shadow puppet from scratch bring it to life and interact with other puppets to create a show. Check out the Oak Park River Forest Gangster Tour where you visit fifteen houses once owned by renowned gangsters including Sam Giancana "Machine Gun Jack" McGurn Paul Ricca and Tony Accardo and learn about the history of organized crime from Prohibition until now in Chicago.
