I don’t know about you but even when I’m not trying I still have a large stack of business cards. Wouldn’t it be great though if you could find a way to easily get all those cards and contacts into one location in the cloud?

One of my colleagues sent me information about an app that works across all platforms (smartphone tablet computer and the web app). It’s called CamCard. It allows you to take a picture of a business card and saves the card instantly to your phone contacts. The beauty of this app is that it works on every platform – Android iOS Windows 8 Windows Phone Blackberry and Blackberry 10 – which makes it truly unique in the world of apps.

The system will auto-detect the orientation of the text and rotate the card if necessary. Yes it saves an image of the card so any little scribbles on the card are not lost. You can scan multiple cards at one time using the batch feature. It will also read any QR codes or email signatures on the card. You can export the list from the online website. You can also merge a card with an existing contact.

I like that this particular app has both a free and paid version. The paid version allows you to directly call phone numbers from the business card itself. As a free application that will help you stay organized with a lot less paper it’s completely worth trying.
