THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO – CELEBRATING FATHER’S DAY CHICAGO-STYLE!

It’s Dad’s turn on Sunday and there’s no better way to celebrate Father’s Day with your Dad than with a Chicago-style weekend packed with fests food & fun!

Attracting crowds of over 100000 annually and always a favorite amongst Chicagoans the Taste of Randolph Street brings some of the City’s best in food music and festival fun to 900 W. Randolph Street (Randolph and Peoria Streets) in the West Loop neighborhood on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. This street festival features food and beer from a variety of top-rated local vendors such as BellyQ De Cero Taqueria Grange Hall Burger Bar La Sardine Pork Chop and others. Live music by many talented artists as well as artisan booths offering artwork clothing handcrafted jewelry and a myriad of other accessories round out this festival!

Back for its third year SausageFest Chicago offers a wide-variety of encased meats from the City’s best-known butcher/meat shops and restaurants such as Bobak’s Sausage Company Gilbert’s Craft Sausages Paulina Market and others at Sheffield Avenue and Addison Street (3600 N. Sheffield Avenue) in the Lakeview neighborhood adjacent to Wrigley Field on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This street festival also features live music crafts and the crowning of “Sausage King of Chicago!”

Drawing crowds from all over the Midwest the 31st annual celebration of Puerto Rican culture takes place Saturday and Sunday (12:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.) at Division Street and California Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood for Fiestas Puertorriqueñas. Billed as the largest Latin event in the nation this street festival features authentic Caribbean cuisine live music entertainment arts & crafts carnival rides and much more!

Drawing tens of thousands of spectators of all ages this year’s Puerto Rican People’s Parade combines the downtown Chicago parade and the local neighborhood Division Street parade into one large parade now celebrating 48 years to Division Street from Western Avenue to Sacramento Avenue this Saturday and stepping off at Noon. Thus this new location brings you much closer to post-parade festivities at the Fiestas Puertorriqueñas (Puerto Rican Festival) where you can continue enjoying some food and fun with your Dad!

The Lincoln Park Greek Fest brings all the aromas tastes sounds and traditions of Greece to 2701 N. Sheffield Avenue (Saint George Greek Orthodox Church of Chicago) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood on Saturday (12:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.) and Sunday (12:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.) for some great food fun & Opa! This annual street festival also features live music from local bands as well as dance performances church tours an inflatable obstacle course and more!

Lastly we have the 6 Corners BBQ Fest taking place at 4000 N. Milwaukee Avenue (Irving Park Road and Cicero Avenues) in the Portage Park neighborhood on Saturday (12:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.) and Sunday (12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.). This third annual street festival features local food vendors serving up mouth-watering BBQ such as pulled pork baby back ribs beef brisket BBQ turkey legs as well as two stages of live music from local musicians arts & crafts a cooking contest and more! It’s also a family-friendly festival with a Kids’ Corner offering tae kwon do demonstrations a concert from Super Stolie (Saturday) and a presentation by CirEsteem (Sunday)!

Finally this weekend is the start of the 13th annual 2013 Chicago Movies in the Parks series featuring 195 films in parks across Chicago. All movies begin at dusk weather permitting and admission is free!
