TECHNOLOGY TIPS – ANDROID’S ANSWER TO SIRI??

You’ve probably seen the commercials out there with Zoe Deschanel or John Malkovich or Samuel Jackson. The main theme across the board on these commercials is that you can have your very own virtual assistant called Siri help you with just about anything. Siri’s main purpose is to use voice commands to assist you and respond back with confirmation of your requests.

Now there is a new competitor out there called Speaktoit. Considered the best competitor to Siri this app was developed specifically for Android devices. Due to it being considered the next best option to Siri Speaktoit has released their virtual assistant app on the iOS platform (Apple’s operating system).

There are a couple differences including an avatar with Speaktoit whereas Siri is only voice. Speaktoit is an app that can integrate with your Facebook and Twitter updates (extremely useful when you don’t have time to type out your messages). The comprehension and response appears to be more robust than Siri. Finally the Speaktoit app does have a support option for either English or Spanish. And one of the newest developments is a connection to Yelp.

Like all these popular apps the jury is still out. It looks as though Speaktoit has truly developed (and continues to do so) an app that will be on par with Apple’s Siri.
