TECHNOLOGY TIPS – AFFORDABLE ELECTRONICS FOR THE HOLIDAYS

I’m somewhat of a gadget girl. I like having interesting technology and this time of year definitely bodes well for affordable gifts for others (and selfishly me too).

My one sweet deal recently was the blu-ray player that was on sale at Walmart for under $70. Granted this is a deal that most people got on Black Friday but those deals are out there.

Another great item I found is the Roku player. This is a completely different experience and is similar to the AppleTV. Both of these items use your Internet connection to stream video television and music to name a few. Using your existing subscriptions Roku works just like your PC.

Roku has three different units that work with either a regular or high definition TV. The highest end unit costs $99 with the entry level unit costing $59.99. It’s a really affordable way to integrate your online subscriptions with your high speed internet connection to give you a full entertainment package (and it takes about 15 minutes to set up the 5 inch unit).
