NORWOOD PARK

Chicago is home to many amazing architectural finds. One location included in this list is the oldest house in the city of Chicago. Most people think the oldest home is the Clarke House built in 1836. The fact is that English farmer Mark Noble built a frame house in the Norwood Park neighborhood in 1833. The house was restored a decade ago by the Norwood Park Historical Society.

Holiday shopping is very difficult when looking for a great gift for the foodies in your life. Most foodies have the gadgets and really like to explore with food. One great suggestion we found is giving cooking classes at either the Chopping Block or Cooking Fools. Both offer an affordable class on pasta making which are sure to be great adventures in food making.

EVANSTON

Today is the start of the snow parking restrictions in Evanston. The rules are in effect until March 31 and ban parking from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on major streets whenever there’s 2 inches or more of snowfall. To make the rules a little more interesting the ban affects even-numbered side of streets on even-numbered days and vice versa on odd-numbered days. Listen for emergency sirens at 8:15 pm to notify when the ban is in effect and 7:15am or 12:15pm on snow emergency days.
