Local resident Rob Kleiner holds a special place in his heart for the new Twilight movie "Eclipse." Kleiner co-wrote the music and lyrics for the song "What Part of Forever" which appears on the official "Eclipse" movie soundtrack and plays during the end credits of the film. "I think when I found out I probably just screamed on top of my lungs for a half-hour" Kleiner admitted.
LAKEVIEW
The CTA recently conducted a study on renovating the Purple and Red lines north of Addison. There are many proposals available including integrating closer timing between trains and increasing the number of stops for the Purple line. It’s currently too early to tell what will happen with all the current proposals but the state is looking to get additional federal and/or state funds to make improvements.
SOUTH LOOP
The South Loop mourns the loss of Fred Anderson jazz aficionado and owner of the Velvet Lounge. Living a full life to age 81 Anderson’s Velvet Lounge provides a locus for cutting-edge jazz in the city. Velvet Lounge has been an institution in the neighborhood since it opened in 1982.
RAVENSWOOD
Andersonville Green Week is upon us and Ravenswood Chiropractic & Wellness Center will be presenting. The topic is "Is Your House Making You Sick?" Dr. Renn an expert of the affects of toxic substances in the human body will share with you where hidden toxic substances can be found assessing body burden and strategies that minimize exposure.
OAK PARK
Starting next week the Park District of Oak Park will begin breaking ground on two major renovations. Maple Park’s northwest corner will be transformed into a dog park and the three tennis courts in the middle of the park will be replaced with two at the southwest corner.
