HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN AND AROUND CHICAGO THIS WEEKEND!
ARRRRGH! Can you believe it – it’s the last weekend in July already!! Boy whoever said "Time flies when you’re having fun" knew what they were talking about. This means that summer’s end is drawing near and one sure sign are all the outdoor fests planned for this weekend.
In case you haven’t had a chance yet to make it over to the Lake County Fair held at the Lake County Fairgrounds this fair will wrap up on Sunday July 29th. Admission ranges from $3-$7 with uniformed military personnel and kids under 12 free. What a great way to enjoy some quality time with the entire family.
Also planned for this weekend are several ethnic fests around the City which include the Peruvian Festival (July 25-July 27 Daley Plaza); Fiesta Del Sol July 26-July 29 Pilsen neighborhood); Ghana Fest 2007 (July 28 Washington Park). Continuing on with neighborhood tastes which include the Sixth Annual Summer On Southport (July 28-July 29 3800 N. Southport); Wicker Park Summerfest (July 28-July 29 1600 N. Damen); 24th Annual Taste of Lincoln Avenue (July 28-July 29 2400 N. Lincoln); and finally the 50th Annual Venetian Night (July 28 Monroe Harbor) which signals the end of our "Hot Fun In The Summer Sun."
By the way our neighbors to the southeast of us in Whiting Indiana will be hosting Pierogi Fest 2007. We encourage you to stop on over. Word has it that the pierogis are home-made by one of our valued clients. This is a celebration of Eastern European heritage kicking off with a parade at 7 p.m. on Friday and continuing Saturday and Sunday with ethnic dancers polka bands a beer garden and much more. Stop by the Mazek’s for some home-made pierogis and tell them that Dean’s Team sent you! Who knows you might even run into me there. If you do I’ll buy you a pierogi!
