Lakeview: Ella Elli, opening March 7, is a new upscale restaurant in the Lakeview neighborhood. Located at 1349 W. Cornelia Ave., it will offer dishes rooted in Mediterranean cuisine, with Italian, Moroccan, French, and Spanish influences. The venue seats 74 people and seeks to be an elegant option for a night out.
I will unabashedly state that tacos are my favorite food. Having just moved here from Austin, I’ll admit that I’ve been skeptical about the taco scene here in Chicago. However, I’ve been assured by native Chicagoans that good tacos do exist in the city and so my search for my favorite Chicago taco has begun.
Make some vinegar/ lemon rind/ water ice cubes to clean your garbage disposal and sharpen the blades too! Put a 1-inch piece of lemon rind into each section of an ice cube tray. Fill with ¼ cup vinegar to 2 cups water. Freeze, then throw into the disposal. Grind with plenty of fresh cold water. Clean, fresh and sharp.
