Have you had enough of winter with its below zero temps and unbearable wind chills? Are you ready for summer to return to Chicago? Well I can’t give you summer yet but I could get you in that frame of mind and ready for its return or even suggest places that are in their summertime. Want to know how?

The Progressive Insurance Chicago Boat RV & Strictly Sail Show are in town Saturday (10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.) and Sunday (10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) at McCormick Place South Hall (2301 S. Lake Shore Dr.) in the South Loop to give you a head start on summer outdoor fun. By combining two annual winter favorites not only will this event be offering 25% more exhibit space with more sailboats power boats RVs and accessories but it will also offer a New Progressive Boat School; Interactive Fun for All Ages which includes the Gypsy Rose Pirate Ship Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) the Huck Finn Trout Pond and more; Outdoors 101; Sailing Simulator and so much more! This is definitely the best boating RVing and sailing all under one roof packed with an incredible line-up of family-friendly activities and is Chicago’s BIGGEST marine & outdoors sales event to get you ready for the return of summer!!

Also in town this weekend is the Chicago Travel & Adventure Show at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center Hall F (5555 N. River Rd.) in Rosemont. Billed as the Midwest’s largest travel show where travelers come annually to dream plan and book their next vacations this event features ideas on where to go what to do once there which destinations offer the best value and provides the latest travel information to keep you in the know along with a bona fide list of reputable companies. Why waste time searching the Internet or thumbing through a book when you’ll have travel experts at your fingertips! And don’t forget to fill out your entry for an opportunity to win the show’s official “Door Prize” as well as stopping by exhibitor booths where hundreds of trips will be raffled during the weekend (Saturday – 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m./Sunday – 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.).
