Who turned down the temps below 75 degrees? You’ve got some nerve!

Well despite the autumn-like temps this weekend Chicagoans are not ready to give up on summer yet especially after the winter we had! Are you with us?

One of the most popular and unique art festivals in the Chicagoland area Lakeview East Festival of the Arts takes place Saturday (10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.) and Sunday (10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) at 3200 N. Broadway Street (between Belmont Ave. & Hawthorne Pl.) in the Lakeview neighborhood. This 10th annual festival features over 150 juried artists showcasing and selling their works in a wide range of price ranges from furniture to jewelry to paintings to photography to sculptures and more as well as featuring live music beer & wine local cuisine cooking demos a landscape oasis family activities and a 3D projection show on Saturday!

Experience the Ethiopian culture and heritage at this year’s Chicago Ethiopian Festival on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Senn High School (5900 N. Glenwood Ave.) in the Edgewater neighborhood. Try some authentic Ethiopian cuisine from Chicago’s top Ethiopian restaurants then enjoy some Ethiopian-inspired music and dance throughout the event or even take home a piece of Ethiopia as you browse through the many local vendors showcasing and selling Ethiopian arts & crafts spices and much more!

Celebrate Mexican independence and culture at the 25th annual Festival de La Villita this Saturday and Sunday (2:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.) at 2600 S. Kostner Ave. in the Little Village neighborhood. This festival offers something for every family member from live music to games for kids & adults to carnival rides to merchandise to authentic cuisine from local restaurants and so much more! Then on Sunday the annual Mexican Independence Day Parade kicks-off at Noon at 26th St. and Albany Ave. ending at the festival as the celebration of Mexico’s independence from Spanish rule continues!!

Its Back! The Chicago Beer Festival returns to Union Station (225 S. Canal St.) on the Near West Side this Saturday for two sessions (1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.) featuring dozens of domestic and international breweries with their fall seasonal beers! Tickets will not be sold at the door so you’ll have to go online to purchase your ticket which includes 30 taster vouchers. Also Uber will be offering two free rides up to $15 so there’s no need to drive!!

Finally two events are being held this weekend in honor of our “furry four-legged” family-members which include:

The 11th Annual Mutt Strut hosted by Chicago Canine Rescue takes place Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Newport and Southport Avenues in the Lakeview neighborhood to help save homeless pups! This family-friendly event begins with a 1.5 mile walk through the Lakeview neighborhood and finishes with a fun-filled block party featuring food and refreshments music contests activities such as a doggy obstacle course give-a-ways a silent auction and so much more!

The PetSmart Charities Fall Adoption Weekend takes place on Saturday and Sunday at various locations throughout the Chicagoland area with plenty of animals available who are hoping to find their forever home! So contact or visit your local PetSmart store for participation times (dogs may not be available in all stores) and give a “furry-one” their forever home!!
