Don’t look now but it’s another weekend here in Chicago! Here’s what’s in store for you. Are you ready?
The Andersonville Midsommarfest takes it to the streets at 5200 N. Clark Street (Foster Avenue and Clark Street) in the Andersonville neighborhood this Saturday and Sunday. This popular summer festival returns for its 47th year and is one of the regions most eagerly anticipated festivals featuring international food live music on four stages stellar family activities 100 quality artisans showcasing their wares and a nod to Swedish traditions such as a Maypole dance. Stop by the 104.3 K-HITS tent for a chance to win a great prize as well as enter a drawing to possibly win two tickets for an upcoming summer concert!
The Chill & Grill Festival hosted by Better Homes & Garden along with Weber Grill will be setting up at Waveland Park (3600 Recreation Drive) in the Lakeview neighborhood this Saturday (11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) and Sunday (12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.). Activities at this festival include free grilling demonstrations by top chefs Weber Grill hands-on classes live music and plenty of kids activities!
Ribfest Chicago 2012 takes it to the streets at 4000 N. Lincoln Avenue (Lincoln Avenue and Irving Park Road) in the North Center neighborhood this Saturday and Sunday. This 14th annual fest features about 50000 pounds of ribs and barbecue from over 20 vendors live music on two stages and a family area which is open from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with both days featuring inflatables games and live entertainment for the kids. In conjunction with this bash the 3rd annual rib-eating contest RibMania takes place Friday night where a dozen professional eaters compete! YUM!!!
The Wells Street Art Festival is held in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood at 1300 N. Wells Street (Wells Street between North Avenue and Division Street) this Saturday and Sunday. This art festival is one of the first neighborhood festivals of the summer season and features works of over 250-juried fine arts exhibitors as well as an eclectic lineup. More than 20 food vendors representing some of the neighborhood’s best restaurants kids activities and a silent auction round out this event! BTW stop by your favorite station to win a fabulous prize!!
The Chicago Blues Festival takes it to Grant Park (331 E. Randolph Street) in The Loop this weekend for its 29th annual blues fest billed as the City’s and the world’s largest FREE blues festival! Capping off Sunday’s all-female lineup at the Petrillo Music Shell is the legendary and Grammy award-winning singer Mavis Staples! Also make sure you stop by the 104.3 K-HITS tent for a chance to win a free pair of Def Leppard tickets.
Rockin’ in The Park at Rosemont is a FREE outdoor music festival taking place this weekend at 5501 Park Place (located between Bryn Mawr & Balmoral Avenues west of River Road) in Rosemont. This free music festival not only offers live music but also features food & drink options for purchase to enhance your experience! In between concerts take a walk across the street and checkout some of the new bars and restaurants that are among the first to open in The Park or take in a game or two of bowling or seek out the true Irish culture over a pint of beer. The Park has it all!
