Un-dampen your soggy spirits this weekend as "Chicago goes back outdoors" with these fun relaxing festivities (rain not welcomed) –
The largest Latino festival in the Midwest Fiesta del Sol takes place Saturday (11 a.m.-11 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m.-10 p.m.) in the Pilsen neighborhood at 1400 W. Cermak Road. This 39th annual smoke- and alcohol-free fest features arts and crafts carnival rides a car show soccer tournaments DJs live music and more while food vendors offer Mexican American and Asian dishes.
The Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival takes place Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Logan Square neighborhood at Milwaukee Avenue and Logan Boulevard (2600 N. Milwaukee Ave.). This 3rd annual fest features poetry performances pop-up art galleries food and craft beer vendors live music on two stages and more.
The Randolph Street Market Festival takes place Saturday (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) in the West Loop neighborhood at Journeymen Plumbers Hall (1340 W. Washington Blvd.). This 8th annual European-style fair features over 200 dealers displaying antiques vintage collectibles and indie designer apparel for your shopping pleasure. Food beer vendors themed mini-markets and kids’ activities will be featured as well. Also your ticket includes repeat entry all weekend long and the outdoor market is pet-friendly!
The Andersonville Summer Sidewalk Sale takes place Saturday and Sunday in the Andersonville neighborhood at 5000-5800 N. Clark Street. Over 30 Andersonville stores such as Akira Alamo Shoes Brown Elephant Bucky Gear Cassona and more offer discounted wares. Also Women & Children First will be hosting their annual used book sale (10 a.m.-7 p.m.) at this year’s sidewalk sale.
Summer on Southport takes place Saturday (11 a.m.-10 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m.-9 p.m.) in the Lakeview neighborhood at Southport and Waveland Avenues (3700 N. Southport Ave.). This summer festival includes local food vendors artisans and musicians a Sunday Gospel Brunch and the 10th annual Children’s Festival which features face painting a balloon artist a jump house mini golf and more!
The Taste of Lincoln Avenue takes place Saturday (12 p.m.-10 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m.-10 p.m.) in the Sheffield/De Paul neighborhood at Lincoln and Fullerton Avenues (2400 N. Lincoln Ave.). This 28th annual street fest features over 300 food beer art and merch vendors as well as a kid’s carnival and The Lill Street Craft Fair featuring handmade art. Five stages will host pop blues rock and soul music by more than 40 local and regional bands as well!
The CubCrawl takes place Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Lakeview neighborhood at Johnny O’Hagan’s (3374 N. Clark St.). Watch the Cubs and Cardinals duke it out at nine bars throughout Wrigleyville. Also includes drink specials a T-shirt and prizes!
Jack’s Bar and Grill (2856 N. Southport Ave.) in the Lakeview neighborhood will be hosting a Pig Roast this Saturday from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. with a buffet of pork Hawaiian bread and potato and pasta salads along with drink specials. Don’t forget to wear your lei for this Hawaiian-inspired bash!
Finally Mad River Bar & Grille (2909 N. Sheffield Ave.) in the Lakeview neighborhood will be kicking-off a benefit for The American Cancer Society this Saturday from 6 p.m.-3 a.m. at The Bra Crawl in support of the fight against breast cancer. Participants are encouraged to wear a bra over their shirt (women & men) for the crawl to four Lincoln Park bars!
