THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO – THE CHILL RETURNS – SO DOES THE MADNESS!

As spring officially arrives this Sunday and we’ve already been teased this past week with spring-like temps "the chill returns" but so does "the Madness!"

That’s right it’s NCAA Tournament time again also known as March Madness so I’ve gathered a list of some of the top Chicago bars/pubs that will be featuring this year’s tournament along with drink and food-themed specials and possibly some giveaways during the game throughout the weekend –

March Madness at what is known as the "Four Corners Bar Group":

March Madness at The Fifty/50 – 2047 W. Division Street in the East Village/Ukrainian Village. Games are shown on 18 flat screens. Domestic beers are $1 during the national championship game.

March Madness at Lotties Pub – 1925 W. Cortland Avenue in the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhood. Bar opens for early games at 10:00 a.m.

March Madness at The Pony – 1638 W. Belmont Avenue in the Lakeview neighborhood. Bar opens for early games at 10:00 a.m.

Celebrating the kickoff of March Madness with their 2nd Annual Mac Madness is Rockit Bar & Grill (3700 N. Clark Street) in the Wrigleyville neighborhood with one of America’s most popular comfort casseroles macaroni & cheese. Saturday’s special mac dish is French Onion & Beef Brisket!

Have no clue what the NCAA Tournament is or even care? Well Chicago hasn’t forgotten about you!

The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo held at McCormick Place (2301 S. Lake Shore Drive) this Saturday (10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.) and Sunday (10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.). This convention features comics movies anime manga video games and toys along with exhibitors panels celebrity appearances and autograph sessions. Also on hand will be screening rooms previewing forthcoming films and TV shows and much more!

The Sci-Fi Spectacular 5 held at the Music Box Theatre (3733 N. Southport Avenue) in the Lakeview neighborhood this Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Admission fee includes come-and-go entry throughout the more than 14 hours of film screenings and sci-fi fun with host Rusty Nails. Also on hand will be dealer tables giveaways prizes short film interludes and a benefit auction. The screening schedule and other information are located on their website!

Sunday’s events in the Lincoln Park neighborhood include a St. Patrick’s Run/Walk which benefits the Irish-American Heritage Center and the Special Olympics Chicago 8K Run which will award the top fundraiser with two round trip tickets to Ireland! Both event participants can join the after-party at the nearby Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum for some awards prizes and live music.
