Recently announced is the Circus in the Parks which will come to Portage Park. Tickets have gone on sale this month and are available from Brown Paper Tickets. There will be four performances for the family to enjoy. Cost is $15 per ticket. Mark your calendar for October 9 and 10.

LAKEVIEW

You’ve probably heard that song "Go Cubs Go" if you’ve attended a winning Cubs game. In 1984 Steve Goodman writer of the now famous song lost his short life to leukemia. Earlier this year U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Ill.) introduced a bill calling for the Post Office at 1343 W. Irving Park to be renamed for the late singer-songwriter. It’s expected that President Obama will sign the bill into effect before the end of the year.

LINCOLN SQUARE

Looking to meet new people while enjoying this fabulous summer? This Saturday come and enjoy a fabulous dinner party at Corner 41 Bar and Grill. The evening starts with a cocktail hour followed by a seated dinner. Cost is $40 per person and it’s recommended that you sign up early so you get a seat. If space permits there will be an opportunity to walk-in.

OLD TOWN

A new location in Old Town was opened by Palermo Bakery in what’s quickly becoming "confectioners row" as touted by Gapers Block. The bakery offers some of what you’d typically expect like cannolis and crescents and one particular delight you’d enjoy in this weather is gelato.

NAPERVILLE

The Naperville Jaycees on Wednesday announced the Main Stage lineup for Last Fling along with a new way to get tickets to the Labor Day weekend event. Some of the more famous headliners will be Buddy Guy (playing Friday September 3 at 8pm) Clint Black (playing Saturday September 4 at 8pm) and Collective Soul (playing Sunday September 5 at 8pm).
