This week we wanted to share some great eateries and inside information where we could find it. Bon appétit.

NORWOOD PARK

Norwood Park seems to set out diamonds in the rough when it comes to local eateries. Let’s take Zia’s Trattoria for instance. They are a must visit for anyone who wants authentic Italian cuisine.

This spot is known to cater to everyone and keep all patrons happy. The chef accommodates child-sized portions the staff gets high marks and even the wine list has been given praise.

LAKEVIEW

Chicago’s home to many many Italian restaurants where you can enjoy an amazing meal whether it be white or checkered tablecloth. In the Southport Corridor Fianco opened during the summer and has become a local’s and "in-the-know" hit with foodies.

A specialty of the house are the duck meatballs which don’t always make the specials list. Be sure to ask for them if you want to try an amazing take on the traditional meatball.

SOUTH LOOP

This may not be for as many people out there but did you know you can get slow-roasted neck with seasonal vegetables at Nightwood?

The story goes that an older Polish couple came into this local eatery and asked for necks for their meal. Not ones to miss an opportunity chefs developed this off-menu secret. This is part of a newer trend in cooking where chefs are butchering the whole animal.

GOLD COAST

If you’ve ever seen the movie Mad Dog and Glory then you’ve seen this restaurant. It’s been an institution in Chicago since 1952. About six months ago a 50-foot chimney tower collapsed on Club Lago when the boiler in the building next door exploded.

Not ones to be deterred the grand re-opening is set for Wednesday October 7. Club Lago serves lunch and dinner Monday-Thursday from 11am to 10pm and Friday-Saturday from 11am to 11pm. They are closed on Sundays.

NAPERVILLE

If you like fish you most likely will like sushi. A true testament to a really good sushi is being able to eat just the fish without any wasabi ginger or rice. At Wild Tuna you get just that.

The staff is well-trained and experienced at the fine art of Sushi. If you’re feeling bold sit at the bar and let these experts make you something special. This is a location where downtown locals will travel to this suburb the sushi is just that good.
