IN CHICAGO MAJOR MORTGAGE LENDER COMES TO THEIR CUSTOMERS – In A Bus!

FOCUS OF FIFTH-THIRD BANK COMMUNITY OUTREACH BUS HAS CHANGED OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS!

Across the Chicago Area in modest communities such as the Chicago Suburbs of Berwyn IL and Harvey IL and in several City of Chicago Neighborhoods OH-Based Fifth Third Bank has dispatched its buses loaded with lending professionals to bring its advice and services directly into the communities that need them the most.

In the details of Friday’s Chicago Tribune Story by Real Estate Writer Mary Ellen Podmolik five years ago the buzz was advice on purchasing a new home rather than renting. Today the message and the overall mood has change – to topics such as loan forbearance credit counseling and foreclosure avoidance.

Last week the bus visited the Chicago South Side offices of the Chicago Urban League and offered loan counseling to 17 people. According to Margaret Wooten of the League some homeowners and potential homeowners are hesitant to talk about their troubles and concerns face-to-face. However bringing key managers rather than only customer service personnel directly into the community shows caring and also provides an easy excuse-free forum for many others.

In addition to Fifth Third Bank’s Community Outreach efforts several other interested organizations are sponsoring Chicago events over the next few weeks for concerned homeowners –

The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America will conduct a Save the Dream Event with hopes of modifying troublesome mortgages on the spot. The event will be held at McCormick Place on the Near South Side of Chicago July 24th through the 27th. For more information or to register visit naca.com or call 888-499-6222.

The Alliance for Stabilizing Our Communities will conduct a Housing Rescue Fair also at McCormick Place on July 26th. Call 866-842-3391 for more info.

The City of Chicago itself is sponsoring another Borrower Outreach Day on August 5th at the South Shore Cultural Center in the 7000 Block of South Shore Drive. Lenders Representatives and Credit Counselors will be available for discussion free of charge and confidentially. The number for more info – 312-744-3653.
