Wanna celebrate something special this summer for dogs and cats as well? Something that we have ALL OVER our Humans?
Well any dog or cat can hop on Texas-based Southwest Airlines which serves Chicago Midway Airport on the South Side for only $75 each way. The airline also plans to provide separate "dog runs" outside security in the airports they serve in case well you know we have to hit the potty before we fly.
As Chicago Tribune Reporter Julie Johnson reports there are a few catches however! (Aren’t there always?)
All flying dogs and cats must fit in a leak-proof carry case that fits under an airline seat. So Alice your favorite adult Great Dane will not be welcome to travel. All dogs must be accompanied by their designated humans – sorry you dogs – no flying solo!
Also unfortunately we dogs will not be able to stretch our paws on long flights by walking about the cabin nor be eligible for membership in the famed "Mile High" Club. Too bad!
I have also heard a rumor that no peanuts will be served to my little furry compadres flying on Southwest – although at this point this is only a rumor.
Man you dogs! Only $75 to fly across the country! That’s far cheaper than our favorite humans pay!
Now all I have to do is figure out how to fit a small 2-ounce plastic bottle of my Dog So Soft Shampoo into my fur as well as my new high-tech Gillette Four-Blade Razor so that it passes through security!
