THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO – THE HOLIDAYS ARE STILL WITH US!

SOME THOUGHTS ON THE HOLIDAY SEASON IN CHICAGO FROM SUE MOSS!

Sue Moss Dean's Team Chicago - February 2008

Well if you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping yet you’re out of luck for 2008. You’ll have to wait until “Next Year”! Sound familiar?

But just because Christmas is over doesn’t mean there aren’t still things to do during the Holidays in Chicago. Here are a few –

The Nutcracker by the Joffrey Ballet is being performed at the Auditorium Theater through December 28th. Click here for more information on performances and tickets.

A Christmas Carol is running through December 31st at the Goodman Theatre. Click here for performance times and tickets.

Millennium Park Ice Skating is open daily through March 15th weather permitting for all you outdoor enthusiasts! Click here for more details.

Now some of you may be busy this weekend with your gift returns exchanges or using up those gift cards while those great bargains are still being offered. After such an exhaustive day why not take some time this weekend and take in one of the many new movies that have opened over the Holidays. A few of those are –

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Valkyrie Milk Marley & Me The Wrestler Seven Pounds Yes Man Gran Torino Doubt and many more. For quick reviews on these movies and others click here.

Finally let’s not forget that next week Wednesday is the last day of 2008! Here are a few ideas for those who wish to ring in the New Year on a budget.

New Year’s Eve Broke Bash at Dick’s Last Resort in their new Marina City location. No reservations are needed here! Click here for more information.

Déjà Vu New Year’s Eve Party located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. Reservations are required here. Click here for more information.

New Year’s Eve at The Full Shilling located in the Wrigleyville neighborhood. Reservations are required here as well! Click here for more details.

Deleece Grill Pub located in the Lakeview neighborhood. Not to be confused with Deleece located on Southport Avenue; however still owned and operated by the same owner! Reservations are recommended so click here for more information.

Big Jones located in the Andersonville neighborhood for that Southern tradition. Reservations are recommended here as well. Click here.

New Year’s Eve at O’Shaughnessy’s in the Ravenswood neighborhood. This Irish pub will be serving up an appetizer buffet and a champagne toast. Click here for more details.

Chief O’Neill’s New Year’s Eve Party located in the Avondale neighborhood. They’re scaling back their prices by 20 percent! Also includes live Irish music a DJ dancing and more. Click here for more details.

Don’t let our “gorgeous” weather stop you! Have a great enjoyable relaxing weekend so you can ring in the New Year appropriately!

BTW has anyone made their New Year’s resolution yet? I could use some “fresh” ideas so please pass them along!

HAPPY NEW YEAR “2009”!!
