THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO – CHRISTMAS SHOPPING ANYONE? NOT!

THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO – CHRISTMAS SHOPPING ANYONE? NOT!

If you’re not in the Holiday spirit yet do I have a weekend lined up for you! Are you ready to get started? Let’s go –

Sue Moss - General Manager Manager of Unbeatable Service for Dean's Team CHICAGO!

Caroling at Cloud Gate — Millennium Park (201 E. Randolph). Today at 6:00PM why not partake in a 50 minute holiday sing-along with the Chicago Chamber Choir while holding a flickering candle. Of course that’s if it’s not too windy! Click here for the next caroling event.

I have two options for Saturday morning which are:

13th Annual 12 Bars of Christmas Pub Crawl starting at 10:00 a.m. – this is not a typo – at the Cubby Bear in Wrigleyville. Cost is $30 per person which includes admission to each bar and drink specials. The crawl splits in two groups after the start but will rejoin at the last bar. By the way the exact route is only available to the participants and this is a walking tour! Click here for a list of participating bars.

Breakfast with Santa at Soldier Field’s United Club. Reservations are required for this event beginning at 10:00 a.m. Their brunch will feature a holiday-themed breakfast with visits from Santa and his elves as well as a Chicago Bears player. Click here for more details.

Moving right on to lunch there’s the Spirit of Chicago Santa Lunch Cruise at Navy Pier (600 E. Grand) from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Needless to say Santa will be there – he sure gets around – as well as a DJ and live music. Click here for more information and cost.

Wrapping up Saturday evening after your day of eating I’ll tone it down a bit by suggesting the theater. Two of my all-time Christmas stories are being performed throughout this Holiday season they are –

A Christmas Carol — Goodman Theatre (170 N. Dearborn). This is the stage adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic tale of the true meaning of Christmas featuring Ebenezer Scrooge. Click here for more dates times and cost.

It’s a Wonderful Life: The Radio Play being held at the American Theater Company (1909 W. Barry). This is their seventh annual stage adaptation of Frank Capra’s holiday film performed as a radio show. Click here for more dates times and cost.

We’re almost done. Here’s Sunday’s activities for you:

8th Annual Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There are many activities for you and your kids to join in including indoor ice skating. Click here for more information.

Howl-iday Shopping and Sing-Along hosted by The Anti-Cruelty Society from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. After all we can’t forget our four-legged friends this Holiday season! As if they would let us. Click here for more information.

And finally the Chicago Holiday Lights Tour. Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Chicago Gray Line ticket office at the Palmer House Hilton. This is a 90-minute outing by trolley running through December 24th. Click here for more information as well as cost.

I wish you all a very enjoyable and “festive” weekend!
