CTA ROUTES ON MOBILE PHONES – Google Maps To Offer CTA Travel Option in Chicago Other Major Cities!

TRAVELING BETWEEN CHICAGO NEIGHBORHOODS BY MASS TRANSIT SOON WILL BE EASIER!

Let’s say for example your enjoying your Sunday Afternoon at the Lincoln Park Zoo near the Lake on the North Side of Chicago. You want to bring your family to a Chicago White Sox Game at U.S. Cellular field that evening. What’s the best route to take?

If you have Google Maps on your cell phone you can easily pull up generally-accurate driving directions.

But what if you prefer taking public transit to avoid the parking and traffic hassles?

Very soon on most internet-enabled cell phone with Google Maps Software on them you’ll be able to select a "CTA Routing" option to tell you which CTA buses and L trains will get you to your city destination fastest.

The technology already exists on some smart phones (not yet however on my own Treo 755P) and will be available on others by the end of the year.

Besides Chicago Mobile Transit Service from Google was introduced in Seattle San Francisco and nearly 40 other major cities across the U.S.
