HERE’S "WHAT’S HAPPENING!" IN CHICAGO THIS SUMMER – FOR YOU AND YOUR PET!

Sue Moss - General Manager Manager of Unbeatable Service for Dean's Team CHICAGO!

Whatever you do after reading this Blog please don’t tell Lil’ Buddy Holly Moss that he’s a dog! He actually believes he’s human!! Whenever Dean or I come through the back door Lil’ Buddy darts out and runs right for the garage door. Of course he does it’s his time to go somewhere now. After all he’s been sleeping all day waiting for us to come home.

Now I know there are many of you out there with a dog or dogs that believe they’re human as well and are entitled to go places with their human counter-parts. So since Lil’ Buddy has been hounding us to take him somewhere I decided to do a little research. To my surprise there actually are planned canine activities! Here are Lil’ Buddy’s Top Three -.

The Mercury Skyline Canine Cruise. This is a 90-minute river and lakefront cruise which features dog-friendly establishments fire hydrants parks and even water bowls for those pooches who may become parched especially if it’s one of Chicago’s famous hot & humid days! By the way they do provide newspaper-lined restrooms one for females & one for males. No wonder our dogs think they’re human. Cruises are every Sunday from July 8th to September 20th. Reservations are not required; however tickets are available from the Riverside Garden ticket office located at Michigan and Wacker every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. — $20 adults $9 kids under 12 $6 for each dog.

One of Lil’ Buddy’s favorite summer fests is The Anti-Cruelty Society’s "Let’s Pet Together". This year’s fest will be held rain or shine on Sunday July 22nd on Grand between Wells and LaSalle from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is being sponsored by 101.9 FM The Mix. There is a suggested $10 donation for adults $5 for kids which benefits the live-saving programs of The Anti-Cruelty Society. You can register online at https://www.anticruelty.org/ or call Kate at 312-644-8338 x307. Some activities planned for the day are doggie massages a photo booth a raffle featuring some great prizes refreshments & food provided by the River North area just to name a few.

And finally Lil’ Buddy likes to wrap up his summer at the Snoopy DogFest & Walkathon held at the Naperville Riverwalk – Grand Pavilion on Saturday September 22nd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. with the 2-mile fun walk beginning at 11:00 a.m. If you collect $50 or more your pooch will receive a bandana along with a loaded goodie bag full of treats as will you (let’s hope the loaded goodie bags don’t get mixed up). And of course after the walk there will be plenty more activities to participate in as well as vendor booths food raffles and music! Oh I almost forgot Lil’ Buddy wants me to remind you that his very special and close friend Snoopy will be flying in from New York to partake in the festivities. More information can be obtained by calling 847-816-7360.

Well it looks like we’re going to have a busy summer after all!

What are you and YOUR dog doing this summer? Please let me know so we can share with everyone!
