THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO – Celebrating Dads!

It’s already the third weekend in June and do you know what that means?  Yep, it’s Dad’s turn, as we celebrate Father’s Day this Sunday with a weekend line-up that is sure to suit all Dads!

Don’t miss the 3rd annual Craft Brews at the Zoo this Saturday (6:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m.) at Lincoln Park Zoo (2200 N. Cannon Dr.) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, as tickets usually sell out fast.  A selection of more than 75 specialty brews will be offered by over 35 local and regional breweries. You can sample 20 3-oz. pours in your very own souvenir glass!  Not only will beer tasting stations be set up throughout the zoo’s beautiful gardens, but there’s also food for purchase, DJ entertainment in various areas of the zoo, lawn games and after-dark viewings of the zoo’s animals!!

Celebrating its 21st anniversary, the Taste of Randolph Street returns this Saturday and Sunday (12:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.) to the West Loop neighborhood at Randolph and Peoria Streets.  This iconic street festival features over 18 restaurants, with their delectable menus and irresistibly unique flavors bringing together the biggest and brightest names in Chicago dining!  There will be two stages of the hottest, up-and-coming bands and musicians, as well as some of the biggest names in Chicago house music, and a DJ stage! What a joy to be entertained while on your culinary adventure!!

Get ready for the 60th anniversary of the Gold Coast Art Fair this Saturday and Sunday (10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.) at Butler Field, Grant Park (400 E. Monroe St.) in The Loop.  More than 300 juried artists from around the world will be offering artwork of all mediums at all price points!  Festival attendees can also take in the art action with incredible demonstrations by the artists, interactive art projects, activities for the kids, food, live music and much more!!

Get ready for a flamboyant and fun party in Boystown!  Chicago Pride Fest returns to the Lakeview neighborhood at Halsted Street and Addison Avenue this Saturday and Sunday (11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.) to celebrate National Pride Month.  Enjoy an eclectic lineup of food, entertainment from some of Chicago’s finest LGBTQ performers, and crafts; as well as the Pet Pride Parade on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to bring their dogs, cats and other animal kingdom friends for a festive procession down nearby streets before returning to the fest grounds where the winners will be announced and presented with a gift certificate from a local retailer!

Heads up if you’re going to be in the Humboldt Park area this Saturday as the Puerto Rican People’s Parade steps off at 2:00 p.m. at Division Street and Western Avenue, culminating at Sacramento Avenue in celebration of the Puerto Rican culture and heritage.  This parade is always a colorful spectacle with nearly 100 floats including the pageantry of Chicago’s Miss Puerto Rico and her court!  A community celebration continues post-parade at Humboldt Park!!

Chicago’s Movies in the Park returns for another season to enjoy your favorite flicks outdoors!  Movies begin at dusk (8:30 p.m.), weather permitting.  Here are this Saturday’s choices:
