We’ve got three weekends before Christmas, and Hanukkah, are upon us, so I say, it’s “Time to Get Our Jingle On!”

Still need to shed a few pounds from Thanksgiving dinner in preparation for the next big meal?  Try these two events taking place this Saturday, and help those less fortunate as well –

The Santa Hustle Chicago 5K returns for its 8th annual hustle to Soldier Field (1410 S. Museum Campus Dr.) in the South Loop.  Jingle your way through a 5K course with candy & cookies, creative Christmas images, festive music and much more along with thousands of other Santas.  This year every participant will receive a Santa hat & beard, a Lightweight Performance Hoodie, and new for 2016, a 5K Finisher Medal.  Afterwards, head on over to Navy Pier (600 E. Grand Ave.) in the Streeterville neighborhood for an epic after party.  And, this year’s benefitting charity is the American Cancer Society!

Join the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago, the oldest charity in Chicago serving those in need, this Saturday at their inaugural Jingle Bell Walk at Lincoln Park, South of Zoo Entrance (1627 N. Stockton Dr.) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.  Bring your family & friends and join thousands of walkers in holiday cheer on this 3K walk through Lincoln Park with fabulous views of the zoo and city holiday lights, church choirs caroling along the way, hot chocolate & fresh cookies, kid’s crafts and even a special visit from Santa!  All participants will receive a warm pom pom winter hat with the Society’s logo on it.  There’s also an after party (tickets sold separately) at Stanley’s Kitchen and Tap (1970 N. Lincoln Ave.) which includes food and an open bar from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  And, ALL net proceeds will go toward helping those in need this Holiday Season!!

Or, perhaps you would like to get your Jingle on at one of the following events:

Join the Glessner House Museum (1800 S. Prairie Ave.) in the South Loop for their Gingerbread House Decorating Party this Saturday at 10:00 a.m.  Decorate your very own mini gingerbread house to take home (10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.).  All supplies are included but they are limited so please RSVP; however, advance registration is not required.  Also, in conjunction with the decorating party, the first annual Gingerbread Architecture Competition will be held (12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.) with judging (2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.) and awards & a reception (3:00 p.m.).  Winning entries will be on display in the Visitor Center from December 7th through December 31st!  Holiday Fun for the whole family!!

Santa’s Midwest headquarters, Santa Claus House, will be open this Saturday and Sunday (12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.) through December 18th at Millennium Park (201 E. Randolph St.) in The Loop.  Here’s your opportunity to make gift requests, find out if you made it this year on Santa’s “nice” list, and take your own photo with the man himself!  There is no charge to visit with Santa but you’ll need to bring your own camera or smartphone for the photo!!

Take part in Chicago’s 3rd annual Polar Palooza this Saturday (12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.) and Sunday (12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.) at the Loyola Albion Lot (6601 N.
