Eyelash and eyebrow growth – mix equal parts coconut oil and castor oil. Use a clean mascara brush to apply. Coconut oil encourages growth while castor oil thickness.

Hair conditioner – melt three tablespoons coconut oil in the microwave. Comb through wet hair. Wrap head with a warm, damp towels for thirty minutes. Wash out.

Eye makeup remover – coconut oil removes even stubborn water proof makeup. It encourages collagen production around eyes.

Cellulite fighting body scrub – mix coconut oil with coffee grounds and sea salt. Exfoliates and firms flesh. Rub gently onto skin and rinse. Also makes your skin glow!

Coconut oil makes a wonderful hydrating moisturizer. Unlike other moisturizers coconut oil actually penetrates skin layers.

Mix coconut oil with peppermint extract for a natural insect repellant. Already bitten? Rub on coconut oil to sooth and moisturize the bite.

Use coconut oil to season iron skillets. Been told only animal fats work? That’s because most vegetable fats cannot handle the high heat associated with iron skillet cooking. Coconut oil can. Slather coconut oil all over the pan. Bake at 250 degrees for two hours. Repeat for the first three times you use it then once in a while thereafter. Never clean with soap. Wipe out with damp towels. For crusted on food use salt and a gentle brush.

Shine leather goods from shoes to jackets to belts. Besides shining, the oil will condition the leather.

DIY toothpaste and shave cream – mix with baking soda to whiten teeth. Mix with shea butter and almond oil for shave cream that prevents razor burn and conditions skin. Mix ⅔ cup each oil and butter, add ¼ cup almond oil. Combine with 10 drops essential oil for the fragrance of your choice.
