‘Tis the season for Josi’s Frozen Yogurt to close for the winter months. So owner Barbie Murphy decided to bring some joy to the residents of Lydia Home just before the New Year by inviting them to the cafe for free treats. She also volunteers for Lydia Home which provides housing and counseling to children from broken homes. Residents were brought to Josi’s in three minibus trips to enjoy product that Ms. Murphy explains would have been thrown away so she preferred to "give it to people that will appreciate it." Josi’s will reopen on March 1st.

NAPERVILLE
Thinking about safety in the coming year Naperville North High School was used for several days to train police in the rapid response of securing students in case of a school intruder. Naperville families were notified prior to the drill training to explain the presence of multiple police cars in the school parking lot. It is commendable that the Naperville police force is using forethought and innovative strategies to prepare their officers for even the unthinkable in our changing times.
