Bucktown and Wicker Park: Wicker Park Garden Club and Wicker Park Advisory Council are kicking off the holiday season by inviting you to decorate Wicker Park’s Historic Gurgoyle Fountain! This Saturday, November 23 from 8 am to 4:30 pm, you get to participate in decorating a Chicago landmark. Everyone will start by cutting up 30 trees to make greens for decorating the 12 urns and rose partiers surrounding the fountain. The event is also a potluck, so bring some finger food to share! Lakeview: It’s time for the Southport Holiday Stroll & Cocktail Crawl! This is a longstanding tradition in West Lakeview where businesses along Southport between Belmont and Irving Park  stay open late offering special holiday deals and festivities. This holly jolly event is free to attend and includes special deals from local businesses, carol singers, photos with Santa, holiday treats, and more. At the Cocktail Crawl, attendees can taste over 15 different holiday-themed cocktails at participating businesses. With each ticket, you’ll receive a commemorative tasting glass and map guide. Lincoln Park: The Paintbrush is hosting a Gingerbread House Workshop! On Sunday, December 1 and Sunday, December 15 at 1 and 3 pm, bring the whole family for this holiday workshop. Chicago Loop: Looking for the perfect holiday gift? Take the whole family to see Irving Berlin’s White Christmas at the Cadillac Palace! Performances begin December 10 for this must-see classic. White Christmas tells the story of a song-and-dance team putting on a show in a magical Vermont inn and falling for a stunning sister act in the process. The show is full of dancing, laughter, and some of the greatest songs ever written! The show runs through December 15 and runs 2 hours and 30 minutes with an intermission. Lincoln Square: It’s that time of year! It’s Lillstreet Art Center’s 44th Annual Holiday Party! On Saturday, November 30 from 12 to 6 pm, the Lillstreet Shop & Gallery will be adorned with festive lights and decorations and will feature new work from over 25 artists. Lillstreet will also be celebrating the opening of their 2019 Holiday Show featuring the work of various ceramic artists. You can explore Lillstreet’s building, get a head start on your holiday shopping, and enjoy complimentary bites and refreshments. There will be free drop-in workshops for all ages between 12 and 6 pm in open studios on the first and third floors. Lillstreet instructors will also be leading demos all day long. Oak Park: It’s time for Winterfest & Cookie Walk! On Saturday, December 7 from 3 to 6 pm, you’ll catch a glimpse of Santa Claus, enjoy a variety of family-friendly music and entertainment, warm up inside the hospitality tent with free hot cocoa and coffee, and participate in the annual Cookie Walk. The Cookie Walk costs $20 and includes a souvenir cookie tin and over 25 individually wrapped cookies you collect at participating businesses.
