Lincoln Park: Join Emerald City Theatre for a BEARY special benefit and performance of Corduroy! On Sunday, November 24 from 9 to 11:30 am, you and your kiddos will see a performance of Corduroy; enjoy sweet and savory pastries; sip on drinks from a coffee, tea, and hot chocolate bar; do crafts and activities; and participate in a meet and greet with the cast. All proceeds from this performance support Emerald City Theatre’s abilities to create theater that represents diverse communities and inspires early readers, and builds self-confidence and teamwork through arts education classes and residencies. Edgewater: Three Cat Productions presents “The Holiday Radio Show: 1944”. Running from December 5 to January 4, the show takes us to the final Christmas of World War II. It features stories by Charles Dickens, Hans Christian Andersen, Augustus M. Hodges, Clement C. Moore, and more. There’s drama, humor, lovely three-part singing, and more. Evanston: The Evanston History Center presents its annual Holiday Open House! On Sunday December 8 at the Dawes House from 2 to 4 pm, you’ll explore this lakeside mansion that’s been decked out for the holidays. There will be live music, holiday treats, kids crafts, and more. This also marks the 14th year of Evanston History Center’s Annual Holiday Food Drive. This is conducted in partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Donations of nutritious, non-perishable food will be accepted at the Dawes House from December 5th through the 8th, from 2-4 pm each day.
