Lakeview: Start stretching now for the 14th Annual Race to Wrigley 5K Charity Run! Race day is Saturday April 27 and the race begins at 8 am. Runners will race through the Lakeview neighborhood and the Friendly Confines before crossing the finish line just steps way from the Wrigley Field Marquee. Participants will receive a special edition finisher’s medal, an exclusive Race to Wrigley performance shirt, a Cubs drawstring bag, and more! Bucktown and Wicker Park: Dorian’s Through the Record Shop offers live music and vinyl DJ sets several nights a week! On Saturday, April 27, Dorian’s welcomes The George Freeman Quintet. They will be performing at 9 pm and 12 am and tickets are just $5. George just celebrated his 92nd birthday and still plays frequently around Chicago. He just released a new record in April of 2019. For this performance,  George is joined by Vince Willis (keyboards), Kevin Patrick (drums), Jack Zara (bass) and Lorna Boston on vocals. Find more information here.

Lincoln Park: Did you know that Goose Island Brewhouse features a different charity every month? April’s charity is Care For Real. This organization seeks to help their neighbors in the Greater Edgewater community by providing free services to those in need including on-site food distribution five times a week, deliveries to the homebound, a clothing closet, a pet pantry, case management, counseling and referral services, and an Employment Resource Center to help our clients self stabilize and get back on their feet. On Tuesday, April 30 from 5-9 pm a portion of all dinner proceeds will be donated to this amazing charity. Find more information here.

Chicago Loop: Mark your calendar for the Great Chicago Egg Hunt! On Friday, April 19 from 10 am to 1 pm, Medieval Times has partnered with Maggie Daley Park for an amazing Easter event. There will be Knights in Training, an Egg Hunt, crafts, bubble soccer, and fantastic family fun. The event will be rolled out in waves (each wave accommodates about 350 children): Wave 1 at 10 am, Wave 2 at 10:30 am, Wave 3 at 11 am, and Wave 4 at 11:30 am. Lincoln Square: Easter isn’t just for the kids- dogs want to play too! Get your tickets now for the Doggie Egg Hunt in Horner Park this Saturday, April 13 from 1-3 pm. This 16th annual event is open to the public and tickets are just $10 per dog! There will be a hunt for dog-treat filled plastic eggs, a costume parade/contest, photos with the Easter Bunny, interactive dog activities, dog-centric vendors, food trucks, and more. Evanston: Enjoy an evening of classic silent films with live, improvised music by brilliant Chicago pianist Larry Schanker. On Saturday, May 18 from 8 to 10 pm, the dual performance will be at Studio5 (located inside Dance Center Evanston). The performance will be recorded for Chicago Jazz Live on WDCB FM Radio. Doors open at 7:30 pm. There will be a cash bar and light snacks. There is free street parking right outside. General admission tickets are $20 and cabaret tickets (seating at cocktail tables) are $25.
