Restaurant Review – Paddy Long’s

This week took me to a new neighborhood spot- Paddy Long’s. Located at 1028 W. Diversey, this “Beer and Bacon Pub” has caught my eye a number of times, but I never made it in till now. Paddy Long’s is famous for “The Bomb”. The Bomb is five pounds of ground sausage, pork, and beef mixed with spices and wrapped in a weave of brown sugar bacon and slow cooked on the pig roaster. It serves 6-8 people and is served with potato salad or fries. You can also get it on your personal sandwich! We weren’t quite hungry enough to try this, but it does sound delicious. We started with a cup of the Nano’s 5-Alarm Chili. This spicy housemade red chili is made with five different peppers, ground beef, and beans; served with sour cream and crackers. It was delicious! It had such a great bite to it and the portion was huge for a cup. I ordered the Paddy’s Signature Salad: grilled chicken breast, creamy goat cheese, sunflower kernels, and grilled asparagus, topped with a sweet sun-dried tomato vinaigrette. I loved this salad. The grilled asparagus added a really nice crunch and there was a ton of goat cheese, which I love. The amount of dressing was perfect too- it didn’t overwhelm the greens. My friend ordered the Mini Cheeseburgers from the appetizer menu. For $11, you get 4 minis of the prime burger topped with American cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. We couldn’t believe the portion for the price- and the burgers were delicious too! They were each perfectly cooked and it was more than enough food between the two of us.

Paddy Long’s is open Mondays through Fridays from 11:30 am to 2 am, Saturdays from 11:00 am to 3 am, and Sundays from 11 am to 2 am. Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 3 pm. Find more information about this awesome spot on their website!
