THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO – It’s Halloween Weekend – BEWARE!

Halloween Weekend in Chicago offers lots of pumpkins, parties, costumes, candy galore, scary movie screenings, spooky tours, and many other Halloween events for the entire family!  But, “beware” of things that go bump in the night!!

Kid-Friendly Events

The Chicago Park District Events has everyone covered this Halloween weekend with a multitude of family-friendly events.  Here are three of those –

Halloween Garden Festival – Kilbourn Park (3501 N. Kilbourn Ave.) – Irving Park neighborhood (3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.).  Enjoy a free Spooktacular time at a campfire with smores, spooky stories, arts & crafts, harvest recipes, and more!

Hallow-palooza – Indian Boundary Park (2500 W. Lunt Ave.) – West Rogers Park neighborhood (2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.).  This scare-free thrill fest features no-scare haunting, trick-n-treating, music/dancing, and a costume parade & contest for tons of fun!  Don’t forget to dress-up in your Halloween best!!

Doggie Halloween Party – Brands Park (3259 N. Elston Ave.) – Avondale neighborhood (10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.).  Bring your dog(s) all dressed in their Halloween best for a day of games, vendors, and a contest!  Yes, Halloween has gone to the dogs!!

Bring your little ones to Navy Pier (600 E. Grand Ave.) in the Streeterville neighborhood this Sunday (12:00 p.m. boarding begins) for the Spirit of Chicago Family Halloween Brunch Cruise.  Enjoy a kid-friendly brunch and plenty of treats at this family-friendly Halloween party on the water, as well as plenty of onboard games!  Costumes encouraged for a wickedly good time!!

Halloween Crawls

Prepare yourself for an eve of screams at the Night of the Crawling Dead Bar Crawl – Day 1 this Saturday (2:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m.) at the Crossroads Public House (2630 N. Clark St.) in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.  Get dressed-up and messed-up in ghoulish glamour for your creep and crawl through Chicago’s Lincoln Park and Lakeview neighborhoods for some hauntingly-good drink and food specials, cover-free admission, and Halloween swag at countless bars.  Treat yourself to a hauntingly unforgettable Halloween bar crawl!  And, Day 2 is on Tuesday, October 31st (5:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m.)!!

The Wrigleyville Halloween Crawl meets up at Old Crow Smokehouse (3506 N. Clark St.) in the Lakeview neighborhood this Saturday (7:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.).  Don your best costume and crawl your way to Wrigleyville’s best bars which include free admission, a dinner buffet, gift cards for the crawl, costume contests, giveaways and more!

The River North Halloween Crawl meets up at Moe’s Cantina (155 W. Kinzie St.) in the River North neighborhood this Saturday (7:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.).  Head out for a night of fun and fright at River North’s best bars which include free admission, a light buffet, gift cards for the crawl, costume contests, giveaways and more!

Finally, Halloween Night (October 31st) brings us the Northalsted Halloween Parade to the Lakeview neighborhood.  All are welcome to march in the parade and it’s free to participate.  The parade kicks off at Halsted Street and Belmont Avenue at 7:30 p.m. with parade registration beginning at 5:00 p.m.  Also, dress to impress and compete in their Costume Contest for Theme, Group, Scariest and Drag with winners being announced after the parade at Halsted and Roscoe Streets!  After the parade, enjoy Halloween specials all night at numerous restaurants and bars on haunted Halsted Street!!
