Restaurant Review – Wilde

This week took me to Wilde, a charming restaurant and bar in Lakeview East. Located at 3130 N Broadway, Wilde describes itself as an “upscale Irish bar and restaurant”. We came in with a group of seven people on Wednesday night and were seated right away; always a plus when you have a large group. They have a number of savory appetizers that caught my eye, including the crispy Brussels sprouts served with a maple vinaigrette, bacon, and bacon aioli. We decided to skip appetizers and save room for the main course. I ordered the Roasted Beet Salad, a generous portion of roasted beets topped with a creamy lemon vinaigrette, candied cashews, pickled red onion, and crumbled bleu cheese. I also added grilled chicken. This was absolutely delicious. I never would have thought to add the candied cashews, but they added delicious crunch and sweetness to the dish. The vinaigrette was outstanding as well. My dad ordered the Ultimate Grilled Cheese. This super sandwich comes piled with gruyere, white cheddar, mozzarella, brie, roasted tomatoes, fried shallots, and bacon, all atop parmesan crusted sourdough. Each of their sandwiches or burgers comes with fries, mashed potatoes, wild rice, or coleslaw. For a $2 charge, you can upgrade to tossed field greens, onion rings, sweet potato fries, edamame and black bean salad, or Brussels sprouts. He chose the French fries and after stealing a few from his plate, I can assure you he made the right choice. The sandwich was so tasty as well. The blend of four cheeses was decadent and the bacon perfectly complimented the crunch of the sourdough bread.

Wilde is open Mondays through Fridays from 11 am to 2 am, Saturdays from 10 am to 3 am, and Sundays from 10 am to 2 am. Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm. They accept reservations for parties of 6 or more. Wilde is huge, with a generous number of tables in addition to expansive bar seating.
