THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO – Tired of Summer Street Festivals Yet?

Who’s tired of Chicago’s summer street festival season?  I hope your answer is the right one because this last weekend in July is packed with them!  And, if your answer isn’t the right one, remember winter is longer than summer around here!!

One of Chicago’s top-drawing festivals, Wicker Park Fest, returns for its 14th year to the Wicker Park neighborhood on Milwaukee Avenue from North Avenue to Paulina Street this Saturday and Sunday.  Attracting visitors from Chicagoland and across the country with its stellar music line-up (over 40 bands on three stages), it also features great local food, arts & crafts, a kids’ area and dozens of retail vendors in celebration of this neighborhood’s rich musical heritage and acclaimed restaurants!  It’s always one of the most anticipated summer events!!

Stretching over several city blocks and side streets, the Taste of Lincoln Avenue returns for its 34th year to the Lincoln Park neighborhood at 2400 N. Lincoln Avenue this Saturday and Sunday (12:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.).  This fest features two music stages with regional and national music acts, more than 100 vendors, plenty of food & libations, and arts & crafts. There will also be a one-block “Kids’ Carnival” area from noon to six on Saturday and Sunday!  And, a new component this year is SausageFest, a fest within the fest, which will feature encased meats from local eateries!!  Oh, and there’s also afternoon wine tastings!!!

The Mustache Crawl 2017 returns to the Wrigleyville neighborhood this Saturday (10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.) with a breakfast buffet and Cubs-themed shirts.  Crawl from bar to bar sporting a sweet mustache, either fake or your own! There will be a prize for the most creative, sexiest, funniest and best natural mustache!  This popular summer get-together also includes gift cards to use on the crawl, giveaways and more.  Afterwards, join everyone at Moe’s Cantina River North where the fun continues!!  BTW, don’t forget to mention that you’re there for The Mustache Crawl to receive more gift cards.

Returning for its 2nd year, the South Loop Beer & Cider Fest will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the beautiful Chicago Women’s Park & Gardens (1801 S. Indiana Avenue) this Saturday.  This fest offers an array of beer and hard ciders from Illinois and beyond, as well as food for purchase, live music and craft beer-centric activities!  Must be 21+ to attend!!

Billed as the largest Latino fest in the Midwest, Fiesta del Sol returns to the Pilsen neighborhood along Cermak Road (1400 W. Cermak Rd.) this Saturday (11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m.) and Sunday (11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.) for its 44th year.  Attendees will be able to enjoy a huge lineup of music and entertainment, savor a variety of food including authentic Mexican favorites, and browse works and engage with artists in the Arts & Culture Pavilion!  As for the kids, there’s a Children’s Area featuring face painting, books & educational games and many other fun activities they will love!!
