Restaurant Review – Replay

I always manage to find myself in Andersonville for a meal. The neighborhood is so charming, I walk through at least once a week. And with the plethora of restaurants and bars, I never have trouble finding a new spot to try. This week took me to Replay, an arcade bar/restaurant in the heart of Andersonville. The space is large, with ample bar seating and a generous number of tables. I came in on a Monday afternoon after a ballet class, so naturally I was starving. We started with an order of the Replay Chicken Wings. We chose half BBQ sauce and half Buffalo. The wings were very tasty; the sauce didn’t drown the wings, often a complaint of mine. I love dipping sauces and the spicy Buffalo combined with the cool ranch dressing was delicious. The celery and carrots served on the side were fresh and crunchy. For my main meal, I ordered the Replay Tacos. I love pulled pork, so I chose these over the shrimp tacos. The three corn tortilla tacos were topped with hefty servings of pork, pickled red onions, and a habanero pineapple salsa. Normally the tacos come with rice and beans, but I subbed a side salad. I also added a side of guacamole to my tacos. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed by the tacos. The pork was dry and the salsa wasn’t nearly as spicy as I anticipated. The guacamole was low on flavor as well. It’s possible I caught them on an off day, but my entrée was not everything I was hoping for.
