THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO – It’s Dad’s Turn!

Yep! It’s Dad’s turn this Sunday as we celebrate Father’s Day but with this weekend’s line-up and gorgeous summer weather you just might want to celebrate both days!!

Once again on this Father’s Day weekend, the 6 Corners BBQ Fest returns to Milwaukee Avenue and Irving Park Road (4000 N. Milwaukee Ave.) in the Portage Park neighborhood this Saturday (11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m.) and Sunday (11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.). As Milwaukee Avenue is transformed into a midway of meat, this two-block stretch will feature mouth-watering barbecued slabs of ribs, live music with Too White Crew headlining Saturday and 97 Nine headlining Sunday, along with activities for kids and families, arts & crafts, and the crowd-pleasing pro-wrestling shows! Six Corners is the place to be for all BBQ lovers!!

One of the summer’s highpoint street festivals, the Taste of Randolph, returns to 853 W. Randolph Street in the West Loop neighborhood this Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. to celebrate its 20th year. This cross-cultural celebration mixes extraordinary food from top restaurants near and far along with three stages of unbelievable musical talent, and brilliant artisans! Here’s your chance to get a taste of what is known as Restaurant Row without the reservation!! And the party doesn’t have to stop here as many Official After Parties will be taking place at nearby venues.

Drawing crowds from all over the Midwest, this year’s Fiestas Puertorriqueñas & Puerto Rican People’s Parade returns to Humboldt Park (Division St. & California Ave.) in Chicago’s landmark and majestic Humboldt Park neighborhood this Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with the Parade kicking-off on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from Division St. and Western Avenue. It’s a community-wide gathering celebrating its rich culture with authentic Caribbean cuisine, lively music, entertainment, arts & crafts, carnival rides and much more! This is one of the largest Latin events in the nation!!

Another annual fest taking place this weekend is the Oakley Festa Pasta Vino 2016 in the Little Village neighborhood at 24th Street and Oakley Avenue this Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. This Italian food and wine festival offers some rich and flavorful pasta dishes from local restaurants like La Fontanella, Ignotz and Bacchanalia along with three stages of live music and a variety of entertaining performances such dancers, Italian folk musicians and the Venetian Carnivale troupers, a wine bar and kids activities! It’s some of the best Italian food you’ll try this side of the Atlantic!!

The 59th annual Gold Coast Art Fair returns to Grant Park, Butler Field (337 E. Randolph St.) in The Loop this Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with over 300 artists from around the world with exceptional artwork of all mediums. Besides the artwork, incredible demonstrations by the artists, interactive art projects, live music, great food and fun activities for the kids are also part of this art fair! After all, it is the “Granddaddy of American Art Festivals!!”

Finally, as a warm-up to next Sunday’s Pride Parade and in honor of National Pride Month, the 14th annual Chicago Pride Fest will be held at 3700 N. Halsted Street (Halsted St. & Waveland Ave.) in the Lakeview neighborhood this Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Besides live music on two stages, plenty of food and drink vendors, arts & crafts and more, the annual Pet Pride Parade will take place Sunday at 12:30 p.m. from the stage area! Everyone is welcome to bring their pet and join in the short parade route through nearby streets and returning to the Fest where a panel of jurors will honor the best participants with gift certificates from local retailers! Celebrate with the LGBTQ community and see for yourself why no one celebrates Pride better than Northalsted!!
